Monument in Memory of Fishermen Who Have Lost Their Lives at Sea, and Sailors, in Aransas Pass, located where the fishermen come and go, part of their world. It was built in 1970 and has plaques with the names of fishermen who have perished. Also listed is a Coast Guard rescue crew from 1973. Responding to the cry of distress, they went out but did not come back. I was moved by the simple crucifix sculpture on the face of the tower. I felt a quality of peacefulness there.
